You've read "The Road Not Taken"
As I did in my youth.
It tells of an adventurer
Who took the other route.
I'm here to say my life is like
That traveller in old days,
I always choose the different road
To get me on my way.
My life has been a hectic thing
Of ups and downs and joys,
But it brought me here to this great day
With wisdom, pride, and poise.
I might have chose the well worn path
And never known a fear.
I could have stayed on safety's road
And never shed a tear.
But in keeping to the easy road
I would have missed so much:
A song of joy, a peaceful scene,
My lover's gentle touch.
So when you make that choice in life
About the road to try,
You can go the way you know the best
Or the one that teaches life. |
